About Us

Non-urgent advice: About GPS Healthcare

We are a fully formed partnership of six GP surgery sites serving over 40,000 patients, with just over 150 staff members located in the Solihull and Knowle area.

From the early days of our organisation we were determined to try and form a business to be proud of, one that builds on the traditional strengths of General Practice but in a new structure that would allow us to thrive in the modern NHS.

With the continuing pressure on GP practices and the ever changing NHS landscape, we are expected to change the way we operate to accommodate integration with other health care providers on a larger scale. The partnership gives us the structure and stability that we need to continue to evolve and to be at the forefront of change.

With continuity of care between a patient and their clinician being paramount, our organisation ensures that the day-to-day running of the sites is overseen by a site based manager supported by the site based partners and staff. To support the individual sites in delivering the best possible care and to ensure we as a partnership will meet the key challenges facing primary care, we have built a cohesive and specialist team of managers and administrators who work across the partnership.

We are members of the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System.

GPS Healthcare formed in 2015 following the merger of 6 practices, together we form a single Primary Care network (PCN). As well as providing general medical services, there are a range of other Primary Care Services.

Non-urgent advice: What is a PCN?

Benefits for patients

A PCN Is a group of GP Practice who have decided to work together to provide and improve healthcare services in a local area. PCN's form a key building block of the NHS Long-term plan. We aim to link staff from general practice, community services, social care and voluntary organisations to deliver a joined up care.

PCNs have the potential to benefit patients by offering improved access and extending the range of services available to them, and by helping to integrate primary care with wider health and community services. The networks will provide the structure and funding for services to be developed locally, in response to the needs of you, the patient.
